☎Call Tracking Setup

Creating a Number Pool (Website)

3min

⭐ Here we are going to create a pool of numbers to a to track multiple incoming traffic sources to a clients website.

Website vs. Campaign Call Tracking / Number Pools

Website: In a website tracking pool, we will create multiple numbers (usually 4) and then install a "call swapping JavaScript" onto the site that will dynamically change the businesses official number to one of the tracking numbers in the pool Campaign: In a campaign pool, we will setup just one number and place that number directly on the landing pages, sms, and emails usually via a custom value variable.

This setup is a little different than setting up a campaign call tracking number.

Start in Prime Local Software and go to the clients account.

Expand "Phone Calls" in the left hand menu system and click on "Number Pool"

Because this is for the Website Call tracking we will want to "Track visitor activity" This will create multiple numbers allowing the system to track the source of the caller.

Next Choose your phone numbers.

Most of the time you would choose the first option "Numbers local to (XXX) XXX-XXXX". In this case there were no number in this area code from Twilio so we did a good search and found another area code that is local to that city. Or choose "Numbers in a different Area code"

Click "Next: Number Features"

next you can choose whether you want a "Whisper Message" to play before the call connects or whether to activate "Call Recording"

We normally activate call recording... to not play a consent to record message, just put a space in the field with nothing else.
